Shiratama is a rose variety hailing from Japan, known for its unique bud variation and belonging to the "Yuzen" series. This rose has a plant height of about 60-80 centimeters and produces white flowers with a subtle fragrance. The abundance of petals in its flower form makes it a popular choice for cut flowers. The blossoms of "Shiratama" start as charming cup shapes, with individual petals unfurling while still retaining a rosette-like appearance.

In the summer, the flowers remain white, but as autumn arrives, they may develop a yellowish hue. The changing seasons are mirrored in the changing expressions of this rose. "Shiratama" evolved from a bud variation of the pink-flowered "Yuzen" rose, hence the name "Shiratama," which translates to "white jewel," owing to its creamy white and soft blooms.
