Basic Care Requirements

Provide Plenty of Sunlight
This variety thrives in full sun and requires at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. The more sunlight it receives, the richer the flower color and the fuller the bloom form will be.

Use Well-Draining, Fertile Soil
Peony kiss prefers loose, nutrient-rich, slightly acidic soil with excellent drainage. For container growing, a mix of humus-rich potting soil and perlite is recommended to provide both moisture retention and good aeration.

Water Properly
Follow the “water thoroughly when dry” approach. Allow the surface of the potting mix to dry before watering deeply. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet, as excessive moisture can lead to root rot.

Flower Characteristics

Color and Form
Peony kiss produces vibrant, true-red blooms with approximately 30–50 petals. The flowers have a rich, velvety texture that gives them an elegant and luxurious appearance. The buds initially open into a rounded, peony-like shape, then develop into a classic cupped English-style bloom. As the flowers mature, subtle purple undertones may appear, adding depth and intrigue to the display.

Plant Size

This variety grows as a compact to medium-sized shrub, reaching approximately 80 cm (32 inches) in height. Its manageable size makes it an excellent choice for patio containers, balconies, and garden beds.

Fragrance

Peony kiss has little to no fragrance. While some gardeners may consider this a drawback, it can be an advantage for those who are sensitive to strong floral scents or simply prefer roses for their visual beauty.

Vase Life

As a cut flower variety,  Peony kiss offers excellent vase performance. Individual blooms can last approximately 7–10 days when cut and displayed indoors, providing a long-lasting floral arrangement.

Climate Adaptability

This rose demonstrates outstanding heat and humidity tolerance. It continues to bloom and maintain good flower quality even during hot, humid summer conditions.

Disease Resistance

One of the strongest features of  Peony kiss is its excellent disease resistance. It is less prone to common rose diseases and pests, making it a reliable and low-maintenance choice for both beginners and experienced gardeners.
